IMAX company opened its first VR-center in Los Angeles

We already told you that the company IMAX has seriously become interested in virtual reality technology and is even going to open specialized VR centers around the world. Less than six months, as in the American city of Los Angeles, really opened such an institution. The center was called simply IMAX VR, and it can be compared with traditional cinemas, thanks to which the company has won worldwide fame.

Visitors to the center enter the main hall, divided into 14 zones. Inside each zone they are waited with a completely unique VR-experience, allowing for a short time to leave reality and get into the virtual world. In one of the zones, for example, offer to experience the attraction Star Wars: Trials of Tatooine, when the visitor is transferred to the famous sandy planet from the movie Star Wars. After the HTC Vive helmet, employees of the center will give you two controllers, as well as clothe your body in a special vest that allows you to feel the rays of enemy blasters that you do not have time to repel the Jedi light sword. There are other entertainments here, for example, shooters using special plastic rifles for the sake of persuasiveness.

At the opening ceremony of the center, the IMAX management informed the press that in the near future such centers will be opened in other American cities, as well as in China. The first Chinese VR-center is planned for construction in Shanghai. IMAX also plans to collaborate with various film studios and famous directors to ensure the flow of new entertainment for their VR centers. The contracts are already signed with Warner Bros., Twentieth Century Fox and even Steven Spielberg himself, who does not mind trying in the new technology.
