Yesterday, the famous Danish company Bang & Olufsen officially announced the release of a new LCD TV HD - BeoVision 8. This model has a screen size of 40 inches diagonally fully meets all the requirements specified in the specification Full HD (1080p). Its brief technical specifications are as follows: the standard resolution is 1920 × 1080, the response time is 6 ms, and its brightness and contrast are 500 nits and 3000: 1. Apparently, in this case we are talking about a static, rather than a dynamic contrast ratio, since B & O values its reputation very much and does not try to give what it wants to be true. Other design features include a refresh rate of 100 Hz and full compatibility with B & O's BeoLink home automation system.
Note that BeoVision 8 has a very decent built-in acoustics, which consists of side speakers and a subwoofer, which is located in the lower part of the body and is directed downwards. According to B & O, such a speaker layout creates a so-called “orchestra pit” and significantly improves the sound quality. The TV supports all versions of PAL, SECAM and NTSC television standards, and also has a digital DVB-HD tuner.
Although in the press release from B & O, this model is characterized as an entry-level model, most likely, BeoVision 8 will be more expensive than similar solutions from other manufacturers. The fact is that B & O is positioning itself as a manufacturer of hi-end audio and video equipment, and it has practically nothing cheap. Recall that the BeoVision 8 package does not include a Beo4 remote control.
