In the course of a thorough audit, they counted 10,607 different games and made up detailed lists. After their visit, the owner of the collection found a few more boxes of games, which escaped the attention of specialists. As a result, his collection has more than 11,000 game titles. But even 10,000 games would be enough for Michael to set a new world record. After all, the world's second-largest collector of games, Richard Lecke, has only 8616 games.

In the collection of Michael there are incredibly rare gaming devices. For example, very few have seen the Pippin game console developed by Apple engineers with their own eyes. It is unlikely that you often hear the name of this console; nevertheless, it is a very important part of game history, as one of the greatest marketing failures in the video game market. In addition to Apple Pippin, in the collection of Michael you can meet other equally interesting representatives of the distant past. It is unlikely that you faced, for example, with game consoles, games for which were sold on VHS-cassettes or huge laser discs.

Experts estimate the collection at 700-800 thousand US dollars, but the newly made good Guinness Record has no plans to sell the good that has been accumulated over the years. It is because of this that he already twice started collecting a collection from scratch. For the first time, he sold his small game library in 1989 in order to buy himself a brand new game console Sega Genesis (known as Sega Mega Drive in our country). The second time, he sold a rather impressive selection of games in 1998 to pay for his wedding expenses. Now Michael has everything in order with money and is not going to part with the collection anymore.

Michael works as a teacher at Buffalo College, located near New York. He teaches his students 2D animation, video game design and development, so for him games are not just a kid’s hobby, but also a way to make money.

Despite the fact that Michael has almost all gaming devices that have ever entered the market, he has almost no time for games. A week he spends no more than three hours playing games, nevertheless, he continues to buy on average two new games a day, constantly increasing his collection, spending about $ 3,000 a year on this.
