Today in any toy store you can buy a replica of the famous light sword from the fantastic saga "Star Wars". This sword will glow and emit familiar sounds from films about brave Jedi and crafty Sith, but it is unlikely to burn a hole in metal or anything to damage. The owner of YouTube channel Sufficiently Advanced Allen Pete has developed his own design of a light sword, which works on liquid fuels.
Created this "fiery" sword by the principle of a lighter: the nichrome ignitor is red-hot and sets a thin jet of fuel, which is a mixture of methyl alcohol and acetone. Butane gas acts as the propellant, which creates excess pressure in the bottle. And for the sake of persuasiveness, a sound system is also integrated into the hilt of the sword, which accompanies the inclusion of the gadget with sound from the film.
Of course, reality does not look as impressive as a fantastic film, but Allen's sword can easily pierce with its delicate blazing blade balloons with Imperial stormtroopers depicted on them or burn the portrait of JJ Binks, so unloved among the fans of the Star Wars series.
