We are just sure that among our readers there are many fans of science fiction literature. Brothers Arkady and Boris Strugatskie have long been considered classics of this genre, and on their amazing works has grown more than one generation of readers. One of the most famous of their works is the story "Picnic on the Roadside", written in 1972. In the late 70's this film was filmed by the director Andrey Tarkovsky, and in 2007 the game STALKER actively using the ideas of the book appeared. Now Sony Pictures TV has presented the first trailer of the upcoming show of the same name.

The story "Picnic on the Roadside" tells about the origin of mysterious "zones" on the Earth, areas in which strange phenomena begin to occur that violate the laws of physics known to man. People inhabiting these areas were hastily evacuated, the zones themselves were surrounded by protective fences, and scientists began to carefully study the anomalies. Inside the zones, as well, numerous artifacts were discovered - objects of a misunderstood purpose. Some of them could be useful, for example, to treat illnesses, and some were strange toys or even dangerous weapons.

Rights to work the brothers Strugatsky sold to Sony in 1992. In 2000, the film company Columbia Pictures announced plans to film the adaptation of the story "After a Visit", where John Travolta was to play the main role. But the project never started, and after that it disappeared from the IMDB.com database. Since then, nothing has been heard of either films or possible television productions, until in 2015 there was news that the WGN America channel had begun work on the same-name series.

Unfortunately, the pilot series "Picnic on the Roadside" did not impress the producers, so the fate of the project was suspended in the air. However, Sony Pictures TV project decided not to close, and now we can get acquainted with the first trailer of the series. The premiere of the television series will take place on the AMC channel, but a specific date is not yet called.
