We love the news about the Canadian director James Cameron. After all, this man did not just take off in his time the movies "Strangers", "Abyss", "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" and "Titanic", which are loved by all of us, but also actively develops the film industry, introducing its own inventions into it. Earlier we already told you that Cameron is working on four sequels of his fantastic "Avatar" tape. Well, the filming of the first sequel was officially launched.
Cameron is one of the most successful filmmakers in the history of cinematography. Eight of his most popular films collected in the global box office more than 5.5 billion dollars. And the same "Avatar" in 2009 became the highest grossing film in history, collecting more than 2.7 billion dollars in theaters. The painting "Titanic" won popular love and won 11 Oscar prizes. But James Cameron is not particularly worried about gold figurines and billions of dollars.
In his spare time from the filming of films, the director takes part in various environmental and research projects. He is one of several people who dared to personally descend to the bottom of the Mariana Trench. And this, for a second, is 10,898 meters deep. For this, the director for several years worked together with scientists and collected his own bathyscaphe. Filmed in the process of this project, the materials formed the basis for the documentary film "The Challenge of the Abyss 3D". His 56th birthday director noticed at the bottom of Lake Baikal inside the bathyscaphe "Mir-1."
Among other things, the director actively develops film technology and tries to push the modern film industry to the future. He personally developed and assembled the first stereoscopic IMAX camera, which he then invited several of his familiar directors to shoot their films. James actively promoted around the world stereokinoteatra IMAX, so that by the time of the release of his big screen "Avatar" (2009), as many people as possible could see him as the director intended.
Earlier it was already reported that the picture "Avatar" will receive as many as four continuations. To shoot their director plans almost at the same time, but they will appear on the screens at intervals of 1-3 years. In the pictures we will again see the characters of such actors as Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Joel Moore, Sigourney Weaver and others. They will be joined by the actors Cliff Curtis and Una Chaplin (granddaughter of Charlie Chaplin), well familiar to viewers on the series "The Game of Thrones". Curiously, the actor Stephen Lang will again play the main antagonist, who died at the end of the first picture. As writers will return it to life - it is still unclear.
"Avatar 2" is scheduled to be shown in cinemas on December 18, 2020. "Avatar 3" will be released on December 17, 2021, "Avatar 4" - December 20, 2024, and the final chapter of the history of "Avatar 5" will appear on December 19, 2025.
