The composition "Break Free" is the first released track of the new album of the American singer and actress Taryn Southern (Taryn Southern). The song, like the whole album as a whole, was created with the participation of an artist under the name of Amper, but what seemed to be an ordinary collaboration between artists, in fact was not what it seemed.
Tarin is quite famous in her country and has been involved in music for a long time. She first appeared on television screens in 2004, participating in the American talent show American Idol. She has more than 500 million views on YouTube and more than 450,000 subscribers. For Amper, the release of the album will be a debut. And the truth is that he (or she) is not a person.
Ampere is an artificial intelligence (at least so it is called its creators), and in combination composer, producer and performer. It was developed by a team of professional musicians and technology experts and in fact is the first AI to create a full-fledged music album. It is symbolically called "I AM AI" and went on sale on August 21.

Drew Silverstein, the film composer and one of those who created Amper, explained to TechCrunch portal that it does not work exclusively on its own and was created specifically for teamwork among musicians.
"We generally believe that in the future music will be created with the cooperation of man and artificial intelligence. And we want this joint experience to start as early as possible and move this creative process forward, "Silverstein said.
The team notes that, unlike other songs created by AI-algorithms, all the chords and instrumental compositions of "Break Free" were written and used exclusively by Ampere. In the opinion of the creators, Amper ultimately destroys the model according to which the current AI algorithms used in creating music operate. Usually in such cases, the result that is obtained when using the algorithm, then passes a fairly serious alteration by people. In other words, in essence all the main and complex work is done by a person. As the creators of Ampere point out in the press release, "the typical process of creating music by the AI algorithm involves manual work of a person who makes significant changes, including even changes in chords and melodies in the compositions created by this algorithm."
But it's different with Amper. As mentioned above, he himself creates all the structures of the chords and selects the right sounds. The person-composer in the future only deals with "faceting", if it is necessary to adjust everything to a common style and rhythm. Despite the fact that "I AM AI" is the first studio album recorded with the use of artificial intelligence, this is not the first time that AI deals with creativity and creates music and other works of art (if they can be so called).
For example, the AI algorithm of Aiva was trained to create classical melodies. And the algorithm DeepBach is able to create music, which is clearly marked by inspiration from the German classic Johann Sebastian Bach.
The first studio album recorded by AI is just the first step in a new musical era, where people will not only share their artistry with artificial intelligence, but also to some extent be able to compete with it.
